Kasargod: Temple Desecration Leads to Tension in City

Daijiworld Media Network—Kasargod (RD)

Kasargod, Apr 4: The law and order situation in the district was once again on shaky footing as some miscreants tried to desecrate a temple in the town. Protests were underway at Kanhangad, near here, on the basis of a call given by the Sangh Parivar.  Shops were forcibly closed.  The road blockade that was laid near Kotachery traffic circle hindered traffic for many hours.  General life was thrown out of gear due to the lightning protest.  The police force has been deployed in communally-sensitive areas to avoid communal flare-ups.  Some miscreants pelted stones at private buses that were plying en route Kasargod–Kambar on the night of Monday April 2 and this resulted in broken windshields.  The bus services en route were stalled by bus owners to condemn the attack.

A tense situation prevailed soon after the failed attempt to desecrate Mallikarjun temple early on Monday morning, by dumping a bull’s skull in the periphery of the temple.  The shopkeepers drew shutters and bus services came to a standstill. The passengers were affected due to the stalled public transport.  A group of men attacked a motorcyclist at a traffic junction and the police had to resort to baton charging to disperse the mob.

Some miscreants damaged the windowsills and doors of the home of Shafi, residing at Bangaragudde, here.  The car of Abdulla, a trader residing at Bangaragudde, which was parked in front of Tekkil Complex, K P R Rao Road, was damaged by some miscreants.  The police resorted to baton charging to disperse mobsters who also pelted stones on shops and automobile showrooms across the city.

Security has been beefed up across the district to thwart any instances of communal flare-ups.

I am constrained to observe and opine in the news matter as following:
Generally such incidents are the handi work of mischieveous elements from any communities. It might have done by hindus also not necessarily by muslims/christians.Because any devout hindu/muslim/christian seldom does these type heinous crimes.

The moto is only to arouse communal passion and create trouble in the soceity at large and grab whatever pecuniary benifit out of it.Therefore before embarking on massive protest by hindus led by Sangh parivar it is better to excercise restraint utmost in the best interet of the soceity.Let us strive for peace and foil the attempt of miscreants which sends the message of peace which will further strangthen the bond between the communities.Next time if such event happens anywhere non hindus will come on streets first in support of hindu cause.Let us create a situation leading this kind of emotional cooperation.
    CONFRONTATION BENIFITS NONE.
