Mumbai, Mar 26: Xavier Child Development Centre (XCDC) that belongs to St Xavier Group of Education Institutions, Doulat Nagar, Borivali (East), organized ‘Graduation Day’ at Ryan International School auditorium, Ever Shine Nagar, Malad (West), on Saturday March 24.
Tulu–Kannadiga writer and financial expert Jayakar D Poojary was the chief guest on the occasion.
Pastor Adrian Lopes was the guest of honour who distributed the convocation certificates to the students.
Speaking on the occasion, Poojary said that modern education should develop the self-confidence of students more than competition. “Studies should not become a burden; they should instead serve to achieve success in a systematic way. The parents play a vital role in the studies of their children. The parents unnecessarily influence the teachers,” he said.
Adrian Lopes said that mere studies to earn will not serve the real purpose in life.
“The pressures on students by their parents and teachers complicates the issue. The encouragement to students will yield desired results,” he added.
Child movie artiste Chirag D Sharma, Dr Lawrence Masse, Imam Siddiqi, actor Shreya Arun, cine director Imam Khalidi, crime reporter Manoj Singh, musician Ram Shankar, Ratnesh Tiwari, child actor Rushi Dube, actors Rudra Aditya, Santosh Kumar, and designer Khansil Khan were the specially invited guests present on the occasion.
St Xavierite head teacher Mariette Fernandes, primary school head teacher Diana Monteiro, organizer Shabana Sheikh, as well as teachers Maria Pereira and Farah Sheikh were present.
XCDC head teacher Monica D’Souza welcomed the gathering.
