Mangalore, Mar 22: MLA U T Khader said that Jayaprakash Hegde’s victory in Udupi-Chikamagalur by-election is the victory of the multi-culture of the coastal district and the Congress party as well.
Congratulating Hegde on his victory with a large vote margin against BJP’s Sunil Kumar, Khader said that after the rave party and corruption the people here had suffered a setback to their reputation and with the Congress emerging as a winning party, the reputation has been re-established.
Adding further, in his comment given to Daijiworld, Khader said that the budget presented by CM Sadananda Gowda has borne no fruit for the coastal districts and the state.
“In the budget, there is no proposal for permanent developmental projects like drinking water project, education sector, and electricity production. The state budget does not mention any points about ‘Mangala Karnish Project’ which has been heard for years together now.
Khader also added that it is sad to note that though the chief minister hails from this district, the budgetary proposals are least bothered about the district.
