Mangalore: City Police Get Trained in Prevention of Drug Abuse

Mangalore, Mar 20: A day-long workshop on drug law enforcement was held at the city police commisioner’s office here on Tuesday March 20. The workshop was organized by Narcotics Control Bureau.
Inaugurating the workshop, police commissioner Seemanth Kumar Singh said that awareness campaigns have been taking place in the city for the past one year.
"However, no considerable result has been reported. That raises the need for police officers to take the issue seriously," he said, adding that all the law enforcing agencies must unitedly fight against the menace.
He further said that if drug addiction among youths is not controlled in the initial days, it leads to other crimes like murder and so on. Two special canine squads have been reserved for cases related to narcotics, he informed.
Officers Pankaj Kumar Trivedi, Venugopal G among others were present. DCP Dharmaiah welcomed the gathering. DCP Mutthuraya delivered the vote of thanks.
Various police officers, police constables, traffic police were part of this workshop.
