Mangalore, Mar 18: Hundred artistes of ‘Kalpavalli’ a dance drama troupe, produced by the Bethany Educational Society in a telefilm on the life of Msgr Raymond F C Mascarenhas the founder of Bethany Congregation and founding visionary of the Bethany Educational Society, were honoured on Saturday March 17 by Sr Wilberta BS the superior general cum president of the Bethany Educational Society at a function held at Bethany hall, here.
Fr Valerian Mendonca, director of Sandesha Foundation for culture and education, was the chief guest. He congratulated the artistes and appreciated the efforts of the Bethany Educational Society in making known the ideals of Msgr Raymond F C Mascarenhas, a visionary, to a larger section of the society.
Sr Rose Celine BS the secretary of the Bethany Educational Society delivered the welcome speech. Sr Lillis, vice-president of the Bethany Educational Society and Sr Christella BS the assistant provincial superior of Mangalore province were on the dais. Sr Simplina, treasurer of Bethany Educational Society compered the programme.
Sr Reena, coordinator, Sr Lolita, assistant coordinator, Sumukananda Jalavalli, lyricist, Suresh Attavar the director were given special honour. Sr Assumpta proposed the vote of thanks. The president appreciated the cooperation rendered by various institutes such as St Sebastian Church, Bendur, St Joseph Inter-diocesan Seminary, Milagres Church and SVD Fathers in making of the film.
She exhorted the youth to follow the ideals of Msgr Raymond F C Mascarenhas and to continue an active role in spreading his message through media.
Prior to the programme the artists paid their homage to Msgr Raymond F C Mascarenhas at the memorial.
