Ajman: Free Dental Checkup Camp Held for Disabled Children

Ajman, Mar 16: As part of the regular humanitarian services, Gulf Medical College (GMC) super-speciality Dental Center, here with the assistance of DMD students of the College of Dentistry, Gulf Medical University in association with Ajman Disabled Home, Ministry of Social Affairs organized a free dental checkup camp for the disabled children at GMC Super-Speciality Dental Centre, here on Monday March 12.

The Ajman Disabled Home Dental Checkup programme is a part of the social responsibilities of Gulf Medical University to reach out to the disabled children to address their medical and dental care needs.

Examination of teeth, gums and floor of the mouth, diagnosis of caries, ulcer or any abnormality in teeth, gums or soft tissue, measurement of the degree of infection or inflammation of gums tooth supporting structures, proper oral hygiene instructions and motivation to reduce risks for chronic diseases such as heart diseases and diabetes, screening for oral cancer are some of the important routines that were extensively carried out in the presence of DMD Dental students of the College of Dentistry-Gulf Medical University by the dedicated GMC Super Speciality Dental Clinicians headed by Dr Nabeel Safwat Al Nahass- Prosthodontist and Implant Specialist A and consultant B.

Each child was examined individually and was informed about his/her oral hygiene status. While presenting complimentary toothbrush, tooth pastes the children were briefed to adhere to the oral hygiene instructions.
