Kundapur, Mar 16: Karnataka chief minister D V Sadananda Gowda visited Goddess Mahakali Temple at Kharvikeri here on Thursday March 15 afternoon. He paid obeisance to the deity and took part in the afternoon puja.
Speaking thereafter, Gowda said that the state government has undertaken initiatives aimed at helping the fishermen, through schemes like Matsyashraya and loans at low rates of interest for buying fishing equipments. He said steps are being taken to provide infrastructural and other facilities to achieve progress of fishermen.
“After the people of this coast chose me as their representative, I rose to become the state Chief Minister. I have visited this region because of love and support the people have extended to me. I will always be with you, irrespective of whether I in positions of power or not,” he declared.
Local MLA, Halady Srinivas Shetty, former MLA, A G Kodgi, district BJP president, Uday Kumar Shetty, K T Kharvi, Narayana Kharvi, and others were present.
