Kasargod, Mar 9: The city police on Friday March 9 arrested a youngster from Ullal, Mangalore, on charges of making the hoax call about planting explosives at city railway station.

The accused has been identified as 20-year-old Munir who was arrested by the city police in Koilandy. The police suspect that he is mentally ill.
The police recovered from him the mobile handset that had a SIM card issued in Karnataka.
Munir confessed that he had made the hoax call on Thursday March 8 that alerted the bomb-defusing and canine squads, police and fire brigade in the city to conduct an extensive search of the city railway station, parking lot, and along the train tracks.
