Panaji: Bible Classes for Laity Held at Carmelite Seminary, Mapusa

Panaji, Mar 9: The Carmelite seminary, Mapusa has organised Bible classes for the laity as a part of their Lenten mission. Dr Pius D’Souza OCD, superior, St Joseph’s monastery, Mangalore conducted these classes which were held from March 4 to March 7 for two hours a day.

Dr D’Souza is a visiting lecturer in most of the seminaries in India. He began with an introduction to the Bible, history of Israel and covered in gist the books of the Old Testament.  Fr Diogo Proença, rector, Carmelite seminary welcomed the participants and introduced the resource person.

Marcia D’Souza one of the participants expressed her gratitude towards the Carmelite Seminary in particular to Dr D’Souza. The Carmelite Seminary team also began their Lenten preaching in the parishes on the theme: “To be with Him, To be like Him”  with a stress on the sermon on the Mount.
