Udupi, Mar 7: The district of late has been witnessing visits by top leaders of Congress, BJP, and JD(S), who are making all out efforts to ensure victory of their respective candidates in the coming bypoll for Udupi-Chikmagalur Lok Sabha seat. State medical education minister, S A Ramdas, visited the town on Wednesday March 7 and got involved with door-to-door campaigning.
He visited various houses in Moodabettu Madhwanagar in the town and solicited votes for his party.
Speaking on the occasion, Ramdas said that the results of the assembly elections held in five states of the country have provided a pointer to the things to come.
“There is no doubt that the people have rejected the leadership of Congress. They have outright rejected that party. BJP activists of this district have been working wonderfully since several decades. The people in general have also been highly appreciative of the development works carried out by the BJP-led local municipality. I have no doubt that our candidate, Sunil Kumar, will emerge victorious with a thumping majority,” he said.
Ramdas was accompanied by BJP district unit president, Uday Kumar Shetty, zilla panchayat president, Katapadi Shankar Poojary, councillor representing Moodabettu ward, Suresh Shetty, and Shreesha Kodavoor, among others.
