Mangalore: Bike-Car Accident Leaves Two Dead

Mangalore, Mar 4: Prashant, a lawyer who was critically injured in an accident between a bike and a car at Jeppinamogeru here on Saturday March 3 night, passed away on Sunday March 4 evening after battling for life.
His companion Akesh died in the accident on Saturday night.
Akesh Kotian Ullal a 24-year-old was riding the bike (KA 19 J 8916). Pillion rider Prashant of Beltangady, a lawyer by profession, sustained grave injuries and his condition was critical.

Akesh was the son of Krishnappa Ullal, a resident of Subhashnagar, Ullal. He was working in the fire and safety division of MRPL.
Akesh and Prashant were riding from Thokkottu to Mangalore, when a car, a Maruti Eco (KA 19 MB 6924), plying from the opposite direction rammed into their bike and sped on. The driver of the car, however, stopped some distance away as he too was hurt.
The car driver was admitted to Netaji hospital in Thokkuttu.
The accident occured at around 11.30 pm on the national highway.
