Mangalore, Mar 3: Bajrang Dal activists were arrested at Kenjar Padavu near the Bajpe Airport on Saturday March 3 after they attempted to gherao union corporate affairs ministers Veerappa Moily in a bid to stop him from entering the city.
The Bajrang Dal and VHP members had earlier threatened to stop Veerappa Moliy from entering the city, following the latter's comments against Bajrang Dal wherein he had termed them 'devils'.
On Saturday, Bajrang Dal members, on receiving information that Moily would be landing by the 7.15 pm flight, headed to Kenjar Padavu and started a protest. More than 150 activists were present, ready to confront Moily.
However, police made separate arrangements for Moily and took him through another route, thus avoiding trouble.
Bajrang Dal leaders Jagadeesh Shenava, Sharan Pumpwell and others were arrested from the spot and later released.
