Udupi, Mar 2: Under the aegis of Mahatma Gandhi Memorial (MGM) College and Kudremukh wildlife division, an information camp on the importance of medicinal plants was held at the College auditorium on Thursday March 1.
Kudremukh wildlife division deputy conservator of forests (DCoF) Prakash S Natalkar inaugurated the information camp on the importance of medicinal plants on Thursday morning.
Speaking on the occasion, Natalkar said that medicinal plants were extensively used by people in villages in the past. “It’s still used by tradition medicinal practitioners. General awareness is essential about the benefits of medicinal shrubs and bushes,” he added.
Padubidri Anchan Pharmacy Dr N T Anchan delivered a guest lecture on medicinal plants and their conservation.
MGM College principal Dr P V Gowda presided over the programme. Programme convener Sapna was present on the dais.
MGM College I BSc students Sohani Bhat and Kajal rendered the prayers. III BSc student Pooja welcomed the gathering. I BSc student Ananya compered the programme. III BSc student Prameela proposed the vote of thanks.
