Mangalore, Mar 2: "Be it BJP or Congress, Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI) will play a decisive role in the formation of the state government," asserted E Abubakkar, national president of SDPI, at the district-level People's Political Conference of SDPI held at Nehru Maidan on Friday March 2.
Abubakker, who was the chief guest, said that ironically, after 64 years of the country's independence, there has been an increase in the number of poor and rich people as well.
"Lack of response by the government in eradicating exploitation of people has given rise to a need for the party. SDPI, after it was commissioned two years ago, has already spread its operations to 22 states," he said.
Coming down heavily on the ‘porn gate’ incident of the former BJP ministers in the state assembly, Abubaker said that they cannot be purified even if they are given bath with 'Gangajal' and instead the sanctity of the Gangajal would be violated. He also said that for the betterment of this nation and the upcoming generation, SDPI is the ray of hope.
In his inaugural address, Abdul Majeed Kodlipete, state president, SDPI, said that though the aim of democracy is to decentralize power to the people, in post independent India, slavery still exists. “The political and social condition in the state of Karnataka is at the crossroads and there is need for a fight back attitude among the people,” he said.
As many as 6,000 people from DK district and other parts took part in the conference.
Abdul Jaleel K, president, SDPI, DK district, presided. Thoul Thiru Maavalavan, MP and state president, Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi, Tamil Nadu, Kodihalli Chandra Shekar, working president, Rajya Raita Sangha, and Hafiz Manzoor Ali Khan, national general secretary, SDPI, were the guests of honour.
