Bangalore, Feb 29: The Karnataka Legislature panel headed by ruling BJP member Shrreshailappa Bidarur to inquire into the episode of the three ruling partymen, who were forced to quit as Cabinet ministers, after being caught red-handed while watching blue film clips or porn clips on their mobile handsets inside the State Assembly on February 7 has decided to summon the trio for personal hearing.

The three former ministers – Laxman Savadi, Krishna Palemar and C C Patil – have been asked to appear before the blue film episode probe committee on Thursday.

The panel headed by Shreeshailappa Bidarur of the ruling BJP held its second meeting on Wednesday and discussed the issue in detail.

The Opposition Congress members H C Mahadevappa and Amaregouda Bayyapur Patil and JD(S) member Dinakar Shetty, who had boycotted the first meeting, continued their boycott on Wednesday too.

The panel chairman Shreesailalppa Bidarur, who spoke to reporters after the meeting, said they would go through the replies given by three former ministers – Krishna Palemar, Laxman Savadi and C C Patil - for the show-cause notices issued by Speaker K G Bopaiah on Thursday.

The Three former ministers would be summoned on Thursday to hear their view points on watching porn film on the cell-phone during the session.

The trio had resigned as ministers a day after the incident on February 7.

The panel would submit the report to the Speaker before March 13, Bidarur said.

''However, if required, we will seek extension of the period by another week,” he said.
Nehru Olekar, B Suresh Gowda and S R Vishwanath, all belonging to ruling BJP, participated in meeting.

Asked about the Opposition members boycotting the meeting, Bidarur said there was no need for politicisation of the panel since it was constituted by the Speaker.

Indians have become unfortunate in electing good persons. If the BJP is involved in porngate, the Congress is worse. In Rajasthan its ministers and MLAs are actively involved and chargesheeted for LSDM (Love, sex, dhoka and murder). I strongly feel that the election laws should be changed wherein the voter should have the right to reject all candidates if those in the fray are not to his liking and all those who are rejected by the voters (say more than 10%) should never again be allowed to contest the elections.

Another alternative could be to have dual elections together - one vote for a party and another to the candidate separately enabling any number of candidates from a party to contest so that there will be real choice for the voters. Right now, even if we do not like a candidate, we have to vote him if we like his party and similarly, if we like a candidate, we are forced to vote for his party even though we may not like it. This system has to be changed.

I am sure this panel after calling ex-bjp ministers and the journalists, as reported, would also call the porno stars in the mobile vedeo to testify. End of the day panels job is to give clean chit for these shameless guys. Probably, Justice Somashekar would be of help to the panel to write report on behalf.
