Daijiworld Media Network – Mangalore (SP)

Mangalore, Feb 29: On Tuesday February 28, the Mumbai-Surat-New Delhi flight operated by SpiceJet with 128 passengers on board returned to airport after reaching the runway, just before taking off. Reportedly, technical snags forced the pilot to abort the flight.

The flight had reached the local airport at around 11.40 am on Tuesday from Mumbai. On its return journey to Mumbai, it had cleared formalities and reached the runway. It is said that the pilot noticed technical problems in the right wing of the aircraft by way of fuel leakage, and hence, decided to take a u-turn.

SpiceJet arranged for lunch to its passengers at the airport, before another aircraft could be summoned from Mumbai to accomodate them.
