Udupi, Feb 28: “The renovation of temples does not take place every now and then. It may be a lifetime opportunity for the devotees to contribute to temple renovation,” said Swami Sugunendrateerta of Puttige Mutt.
He was speaking during the ‘Laksha Kumkumarchane’ programme held at Mahishamardini Temple, Nilawar, near Brahmavar, on Sunday February 27.
Swami Sugunendrateerta urged the devotees to contribute to the renovation of the Mahishamardini temple, and to get abundant graces.
Entrepreneurs Pade Jayant Rai, Kaup Deviprasad Constructions managing partner K Vasudev Shetty, entrepreneurs Anand C Kundar and Nilawar Nagaraj Shetty, Bangalore hotelier Nilawar Sanjeev Rao, and Kunjalu gram panchayat president Raghuram Shetty were present on the occasion.
Nilawar temple will be renovated at a cost of Rs 12 crore.
Temple administrator M P Puradaswamy, temple committee trustee Babu Devadiga, M Suryanarayan Adiga, Karunakar Kulal, Premavati B Ullur, and Sharada R Suvarna felicitated the guests.
Various religious celebrations were held at the temple for peace in the country and world. Free offerings of food were served to thousands of devotees on the occasion.
Temple managing trustee B Suprasad Shetty welcomed the gathering. Lecturer Manjunat Acharya and Prashant Nilawar compered the programme.
