Gadag, Feb 24: Former minister and independent MLA, B Sriramulu, said he will undertake two-day fast from March 13 onwards, in protest against the total apathy of the central and state governments towards development of North Karnataka.
Speaking to press persons here on Wednesday, he said he will undertake this fast at Vidyadana Samiti ground in Gadag. He said his demands would be for the implementation of Nanjundappa Report on the development of backward regions of the state, and integrated development of the entire North Karnataka.
“My fast for 48 hours will be aimed at drawing the attention of the union and state governments towards the injustice suffered by this region at their hands. Several spiritual heads of Mutts and leaders from this area will participate. A convention will also be organized on this occasion,” he clarified.
Former MP, K Virupakshappa, former MLA, S N Patil, Y N Gowdar, Vijay Kumar Gaddi, and others were present at the press conference.
