Udupi, Feb 21: The district Congress office at Nayarkere Brahmagiri here is undergoing changes reportedly to comply with Vaastu norms. It is believed that this exercise has been undertaken to improve the chances of the party in the coming bypoll for the Lok Sabha seat, in the face of successive setbacks the party has been suffering in the recent past.
The main entrance in the middle stands shifted to the right, while a window located to the right has been removed. The place where the gate was earlier located has been closed with a wall. A water tank built below floor level outside the building is being closed. These suggestions reportedly were suggested by a Vaastu expert from Santekatte Kallianpur.
District Congress general secretary, Naraimha Murthy, and Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee secretary, M A Gafoor, claimed that these changes are being made to provide for a platform in front of the office for rallies, and to improve the facility at the office. Gafoor also said that the party will begin a new innings of success in the district with the coming bypoll.
Some activists said that Oscar Fernandes had suggested these changes to facilitate party activists, while some others attributed this as an exercise to set right Vaastu deficiencies. They expressed confidence that the fortunes of the party in the region will begin to bloom with these chances.
