Bangalore, Feb 21: Sensing that assembly elections in the state may be held sooner than expected, former minister, B Sriramulu, has given momentum to the work of organizing his proposed party. He wants to hold the party’s first convention at Gadag during March.
Ramulu expects BJP government to fall on its own because of infighting and controversies, soon. He plans to bring together one lac people for the proposed convention. People from Bellary, Koppal, Haveri, Raichur, Chitradurga and Davangere districts are planned to be brought to Gadag for the proposed convention.
Sriramulu has already applied for registration of his new party, by opting for either ‘BSR’ or ‘Swabhimani Party’. He expects to get the nod from New Delhi for one of these names soon, and plans to complete registration process before the convention.
Sources claim that many former ministers and MLAs has evinced interest in joining the new outfit floated by Sriramulu. But Sriramulu has not begun admitting anyone. He wants to concentrate on organizing the party at grassroots, to prepare to face the coming election. He has opened a hi-tech office of the party in Bangalore. He will open district level offices as soon as the party gets registered, sources added.
