Udupi, Feb 1: The issue of slippery roads and stench spread by trucks loaded with fish which release water on the roads, which was raised by municipal councillor, Panduranga Malpe, gave rise to detailed discussions. Municipal president, Kiran Kumar, promised to discuss the issue with the deputy commissioner towards convincing him to convene a meeting of superintendent of police and regional transport officer with the councillors to discuss the issue threadbare and evolve a strategy to tackle this issue. Kiran Kumar pointed out that the people of the district have not been supporting such initiatives. He said in Kerala, people stop such trucks and either pour the dirty water on the driver or make him drink it. He felt that the drivers here are careless as they do not face such consequences here.
