Bantwal, Jan 31: Popular Front of India (PFI) state president Ilyas Mohammed Thumbe on Monday January 30, condemned the derogatory speech of BJP leader Kalladka Prabhakar Bhat during Hindu Samajotsav held at Uppinangady, recently. PFI alleged that Bhat abused Islam and Muslims in general.
Ilyas Mohammed was speaking at the protest rally organized by Bantwal unit of PFI at B C Road on Monday January 30.
“Bhat has revealed his true identity through derogatory remarks on Muslim women,” said Ilyas Mohammed. He urged the police to ban Bhat from entering the taluk. “He has been inciting communal disharmony in the guise of love ‘jehad’ and his activists are the ones who placed the skull of a slaughtered pig in a temple at Bangalore. These evil acts are repeated by his followers,” alleged Mohammed.
“The nation belongs not only to Hindus, but also 20 crore Muslims and 5–6 crore Christians, 20 percent Dalits, who have co-existed since time memorial,” he added.
PFI state committee member Razak Kemmar said that communal disharmony was never heard off three to four decades ago and the need to organize Hindu Samajotsav in Uppinangady had not arisen when there was communal harmony.
SDPI Bantwal legislative assembly president Shahul Hameed S P said that it’s unpatriotic of RSS activists who are alleged to have hoisted the Pakistan flag and there is no essence in Bhat’s statement that all Muslims should go to Pakistan.
PIF Puttur zonal committee member Shafi Bellare, state committee member Riyaz Farangipet, and PFI Bantwal zonal president Shahul Hameed S H also spoke on the occasion.
