Udupi, Jan 27: Udupi Utsav Committee will be organizing ‘Beach Utsav’ on the Malpe sea shore on Saturday January 28 and Sunday January 29.
The state higher education and district-in-charge minister Dr V S Acharya will inaugurate the event at 9 am on Saturday.
MLA Raghupati Bhat will preside over the programme.
The state minister for Kannada and culture Govind Karajola, Kaup MLA Lalaji R Mendon, MLC Kota Srinivas Poojary, ZP president Katpady Shankar Poojary, district Fisheries Marketing Federation president H T Kidiyoor, UDA former chairman Sudhakar Shetty, Ujwal Developers managing director Puroshottam P Shetty, TP president Devdas Hebbar, and SP Dr Ravi Kumar will be the chief guests on the occasion.
Nadoja Award recipient city-based Shyamili Trust ® chairman G Shanker will be felicitated during the programme.
The coastal specialties such as seafood, chicken dishes, south Indian cuisine, various types of vegetarian food and snacks will be available at the food court during the Beach Utsav. Various games such as cycle races, volleyball, throw ball, Kabaddi, tug-of-war, swimming competitions, kite flying, sand sculpture, canine show, laughter session by internationally acclaimed movie stars, dance recital by national award winning group, musical concert, and other entertainment events will be held during the two-day fest.
Coastal Development Authority chairman Nagaraj Shetty will deliver the valedictory address during the concluding ceremony at 6.00 pm on Sunday January 29.
MLA Raghupati Bhat will preside over the concluding programme.
MRPL deputy general manager M Laxmikumaran, Corporation Bank CMD Ajay Kumar, DC Dr Reju, Indian Overseas Bank Mangalore regional manager Anil, Sai Radha Group chairman Manohar S Shetty, entrepreneur Gautam Pai, and MCF managing director Goutam Agarwal will be the chief guests on the occasion.
Kundapur MLA Halady Srinivas Shetty, Byndoor MLA K Laxminarayan, and Karkal MLA Gopal Bhandary will be the guests of honour.
‘Time and Tide’ musical troupe will stage a concert from 7 pm to 9.30 pm on Sunday.
