Mangalore, Jan 26: Former union minister, Janardhana Poojary, said that a close scrutiny of various incidents of communal disturbance taking place of late in the state reveals that a group loyal to former Chief Minister, B S Yeddyurappa, is indulging in these acts. He said that the aim of these disturbances to hit two birds with a single stone.
He was addressing a press conference on Wednesday, attended by Vijay Kumar Shetty, Mithun Rai, Harikrishna Bantwal, Kallige Taranath Shetty, Bondala Jagannath Shetty, and others.
In the meantime, speaking at Uppinangady on Wednesday, district Congress president, Ramanath Rai warned of undertaking agitation if the government fails to arrest Kalladka Prabhakar Bhat and other persons who he said were responsible for unsavoury incidents through their utterances. He challenged the Chief Minister (CM) to issue an order to arrest Prabhakar Bhat, if he has guts.
In a press conference held at Puttur, Hemanath Shetty and Mohammed Ali, Puttur Congress leaders, said that these incidents had been planned by Prabhakar Bhat to project Sadananda Gowda as a failure. They said that Bhat does not have good rapport with the Chief Minister, and hence, had hatched this conspiracy to nail the CM. They pointed out that the BJP, which did not protest when first information report (FIR) was registered against Yeddyurappa, has launched protest at grass root level in villages against the FIR now filed against Prabhakar Bhat.
