Doha, Jan 23: Tulu Koota Qatar (TKQ), the melting pot of Tulu culture and traditions and a banner that brings together and unites all Tulu-speaking expats in Qatar, is in the forefront of initiating activities, organizing programmes that keep Tulu-speaking diaspora of the tiny oil-rich country close to Tulunadu. Another such initiative, art and drawing competition, again first-of-its-kind, held at the Indian Club here on Friday January 20, 2011, Tulu Koota added one more feather to its already glittering cap. The event held both for young and adults drew huge response.
The competition was held in four categories, that is, Sub Juniors Colouring, Juniors Drawing & Painting, Juniors Clay Modeling and Rangoli for adults. The first category Sub Juniors Colouring had 30 participants, while 20 contestants vied for top place in Juniors Drawing & Painting competition. The Clay Modelling for the juniors saw the participation of 15 children while the Rangoli competition for the adults had 10 competitors gunning for glory.

First: Nimi Poojary
Second: Veena V Rao & Padmashree Shetty
Third: Sushma Sandesh
The judges for the events were Barnali Biswas and N Ravindran. Pavanarama Bolubail, senior sales manager of Ali Bin Ali & Partner who were the main sponsors of the event, was the chief guest of the evening. Harish Poojary was the compere for the evening.
