Bengaluru, Apr 26: A shocking case has come to light where a woman, in her complaint, has alleged that she was sexually assaulted and defrauded by a man who introduced himself as Arjun Motwani alias Varun Sharma while she was searching for a groom on an online platform.

According to the complainant, the accused initially sought her phone number, claiming that he worked in a textile company and often visited Bengaluru. Under the pretext of introducing her to his family, he reportedly took her to a hotel on July 20, 2024, where he offered her a juice. After consuming the juice, she lost consciousness. Upon regaining consciousness, she found herself naked and realized she had been sexually assaulted. When she objected, the accused promised to marry her.

The complainant has alleged that on September 2, 2024, he called her to the Bengaluru airport and instructed her to come in her car. He then persuaded her to sell her car to an ashram, insisting that she purchase a new vehicle as the old car did not suit his lifestyle. After dropping him at a hotel, she returned home. Later, he took her to Puducherry, where he again sexually assaulted her and threatened her with objectionable pictures.

The complainant further stated that the accused forced her to buy jewellery and sell her car to the ashram, continuing to sexually assault her during this period.

It is said that the accused has sexually assaulted and scammed many girls in various cities including Chennai, Jaipur, Kochi, Hyderabad, Pune, Bengaluru, Patna, Varanasi, Ranchi, Kolkata, Nagpur, Bhubaneswar, Vishakhapatnam, and Puducherry.

Complaints have also been filed against the accused in Bengaluru, Chennai, and Delhi. The latest complaint was filed in Chennai on April 25, 2025.
