Delhi: Young woman found dead with bullet injuries in GTB enclave, probe underway

New Delhi, Apr 15: Tension gripped the GTB Enclave area of Delhi's Shahdara district after the body of a young woman, bearing gunshot injuries, was discovered late Monday night, police sources confirmed.

According to officials, a PCR call was received alerting the police to an unconscious woman who had allegedly been shot. A team from the GTB Enclave police station swiftly reached the scene and found the lifeless body of a woman, believed to be around 20 years of age.

During the preliminary examination, officials found two bullet wounds on the body. “Efforts are ongoing to establish her identity,” a senior police officer said in a statement issued on Tuesday.

The area was immediately cordoned off to preserve the crime scene, and a forensic crime team was summoned to carry out a detailed inspection. Police have also begun scanning CCTV footage from the surrounding areas to trace the sequence of events and identify any suspects involved in the crime.

The shocking incident has left the local community in distress, even as the investigation continues to unravel the circumstances behind the tragic death.
