Sonia Gandhi slams Modi’s stance on China, says it undermines national security

Daijiworld Media Network – New Delhi

New Delhi, Apr 3: Congress leader Sonia Gandhi has criticized Prime Minister Narendra Modi for allegedly giving a “clean chit” to China, stating that it has adversely impacted India’s negotiating position on critical issues of national security and territorial integrity.

Speaking at a party event, Gandhi accused the Prime Minister of undermining India’s strategic interests by downplaying border tensions and not taking a firm stance against Chinese aggression.

“By giving a clean chit to China, the Prime Minister has weakened India’s negotiating position. It sends a wrong signal and compromises our ability to defend our national interests effectively,” Gandhi remarked, urging the government to adopt a more transparent and assertive approach.

The comments come amid ongoing discussions about India's border strategy and its diplomatic relations with China. Gandhi’s remarks are seen as part of a broader opposition critique concerning the government's handling of national security matters.

Political analysts believe that the Congress party is likely to intensify its attacks on the Modi government over its China policy, especially with general elections approaching.
