Mumbai, Apr 2: A 20-year-old student from Jai Hind College tragically died by suicide on Tuesday night in Matunga. The incident took place at Techno Heights, a 14-story residential building where she lived with her family on the 8th floor.
Preliminary reports indicate that the student was battling depression. On the night of the incident, two close friends a male and a female visited her at home. The trio went up to the terrace, where they reportedly tried to console her. However, in a sudden and shocking turn of events, she jumped from the terrace.

She first hit the window of a neighboring building before landing in its compound, approximately 15 feet away. Emergency services were immediately alerted, but she was pronounced dead at the scene.
Matunga Police swiftly responded, recovering the body and sending it to Sion Hospital for a postmortem examination. An Accidental Death Report (ADR) has been registered, and the two friends are being questioned to understand the circumstances leading to the incident.
