Navsari, Mar 8: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to mark International Women’s Day in Gujarat’s Navsari by interacting with ‘Lakhpati Didis’ and unveiling key initiatives aimed at empowering women financially.
At the Lakhpati Didi Sammelan in Vansi-Borsi, PM Modi will distribute Rs 450 cr in financial aid to over 2.5 lac women from 25,000+ Self-Help Groups (SHGs) across the state. He will also engage with ten selected Lakhpati Didis, honour five achievers, and showcase a documentary on the scheme’s success.

Launched on August 15, 2023, the Lakhpati Didi Yojana supports women entrepreneurs earning Rs 10,000+ per month through agriculture, animal husbandry, and small industries. Over 1.5 lac women in Gujarat have already attained this milestone.
In addition, PM Modi will introduce two transformative schemes—G-SAFAL and G-MAITRI:
G-SAFAL (Gujarat Scheme for Better Livelihoods for Antyodaya Families)
Aimed at supporting 50,000 women from Antyodaya families across Gujarat, this Rs 500 cr initiative will provide Rs 1 lac financial aid and vocational training to each beneficiary, with mentors guiding them through weekly coaching.
G-MAITRI (Gujarat Mentorship and Acceleration of Individuals for Transforming Rural Income)
Designed to foster rural entrepreneurship, this scheme will support 150+ startups, benefiting over 10 lac rural women and youth. The Gujarat Social Enterprise Fund (G-SEF) has earmarked Rs 50 cr to offer grants of Rs 20-30 lac for seed and scale-stage startups.
Both schemes aim to boost financial independence among women, encourage rural startups, and strengthen Gujarat’s grassroots economy.
