Moodbidri, March 7: Carmel School celebrated International Women’s Day with great reverence and enthusiasm, honouring the indomitable spirit, strength, and contributions of women in shaping society. The event served as a heartfelt tribute to womanhood, inspiring all attendees to embrace the values of equality, respect, and empowerment.

The programme began with a soul-stirring prayer service followed by a warm welcome from Rahul Jenson Pinto the master of ceremonies. Delisha Maria Fernandes delivered the welcome speech while Joshua Pinto introduced the esteemed chief guest Sandhya A, a computer science lecturer at Jain PU College and an advocate for environmental sustainability and waste management. In a thoughtful gesture Sr Elena AC presented the guest with a potted plant.

The atmosphere was further enlivened with a graceful welcome dance capturing the essence of womanhood through rhythm and expression. A heartwarming moment followed as students presented handcrafted roses to the female staff a small yet profound token of gratitude for their unwavering dedication and support.

The significance of Women’s Day was eloquently highlighted by Preston Vinol D’Costa and Anshul R Anchan, who emphasized the pivotal role of women in shaping families, communities and the world.

A thought-provoking PowerPoint video showcased the remarkable contributions of women across various fields leaving the audience inspired by their achievements and perseverance.

A compelling mime show captivated the audience powerfully conveying the message that “Violence against women is violence against humanity.”

The chief guest’s address was a beacon of wisdom and encouragement shedding light on the unwavering determination and achievements of women. In her speech Sr Elena AC reinforced the importance of respect, empowerment and equal opportunities, urging students to become advocates of gender equality.

As the celebration drew to a close Devansh Moily expressed heartfelt gratitude to everyone who contributed to making the event a grand success through his vote of thanks. As a mark of appreciation Sr Ranitha presented a memento to the guest commemorating the significance of the occasion.
