Margao: Ramdas Hazare’s Support Boosts Sardesai’s Door-to-Door Campaign

Media Release

Margao, Jan 5: The ongoing door to door campaign undertaken by GPCC general secretary Vijai Sardesai for the last one month got a much needed boost with former municipal councilor Ramdas Hazare and his supporters openly extended support and participated in Vijai’s campaigning in ward No-4 of Fatorda.

The Ex-MMC councilor and candidate of MGP in last assembly polls in Fatorda accompanied the GPCC general secretary along with his supporters in Modsai, Marlem and other areas of Borda falling under Ward No 4 in the Fatorda assembly segment.

Hazare whose support saw the triumph of Carmine Rodrigues in ward 4 said that people here were eager to usher in change in the constituency so as to rid the Fatorda assembly segment from negligence, lack of development and unemployment among youth.

Hazare Said that popular public sentiment was in favour of Sardesai, who has worked tirelessly in the constituency in spite of his defeat due to division of votes in the last assembly elections. He said it was the duty of every socially conscious citizen to support this sentiment for change and not fall prey to divide and rule policy that had reigned supreme in Fatorda for the last whole decade.

Hazare also praised Sardesai for conceptualizing the supremacy of Resident Welfare Associations whilst undertaking future development in Fatorda and said such visionary initiatives along with a pro-people agenda for Fatorda’s development showed that Vijai Sardesai’s intellect and resolve and hard work would bring needed development and employment opportunities for this much neglected assembly segment.

Joseph Silva and other supporters joined the door to door campaign at Marlem.
