Mangaluru, Jan 25: KMC Hospital Attavar, in collaboration with the Indian Cancer Society Bengaluru, will be organising a cervical cancer screening programme from January 27 to January 31. This initiative is part of the ongoing cervical cancer awareness month and World Cancer Day 2025.
The screening programme will be organized by the department of obstetrics and gynaecology and the oncology Centre at KMC Hospital Attavar. The programme aims to raise awareness about cervical cancer and encourage early detection through accessible screening methods.
The main highlight of this programme is free registration, free consultation with experienced doctors and free Pap Smear testing. Pap smear is a screening tool for cervical cancer. The test can detect abnormal cells in the cervix before they become cancerous. The programme is scheduled from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm at OBG OPD, 1st Floor, KMC Hospital, Attavar.
The screening programme is open to all women above the age of 21.
