25-year-old Borivali resident dies after scooter hit by BEST bus

Mumbai, Jan 23: A tragic accident in Borivali claimed the life of a 25-year-old man after his scooter was hit by a BEST bus on Tuesday morning. The deceased, identified as Vaibhav Kamble, was a resident of Borivali.

According to the police, the incident occurred around 11:30 am at Gorai. Vaibhav was riding his scooter when a BEST bus, driven by Sandesh Sutar, 32, attempted to overtake him but lost control, hitting the two-wheeler from behind. The impact threw Vaibhav off the scooter, leaving him with severe injuries to his head, hands, and legs.

Vaibhav’s father, Vijay Kamble, 60, said he was informed about the accident by the police at around 1 pm. He rushed to Shatabdi Hospital in Kandivali, only to learn that his son had succumbed to his injuries.

Eyewitnesses corroborated the sequence of events, leading the Borivali police to register a case of rash driving and negligence against the bus driver. Sutar was arrested later that evening.
