Mumbai: GSB Sabha Silver Jubilee Celebrations Conclude

Mumbai, Dec 31: The concluding ceremony of the silver jubilee celebrations of GSB Sabha, Dahisar – Borivali, was held at Saraswat cultural and sports ground, Dahisar (East), recently.

A ‘Satyanarayana Puja was conducted and devotional music was performed by Sudhindrateerta Bhajan Mandali on the occasion.

Union Bank chairman H S Upendra Kamath and Natural Ice Cream proprietor Raghunandan S Kamat were the chief guest at the stage programme.

Mangalore-based Konkani fortnightly ‘Kodiyal Khabar’ publisher and editor Mavinakurve Venkatesh Baliga, up and coming musician Pooja Gaitonde, and Chitrarekha Ganesh Kamat Charkop were the guests of honour.

Upendra Kamat, after releasing the souvenir to commemorate the silver jubilee anniversary of GSB Sabha, said that success will come to those who pursue their dreams with grit and determination through hard work, trusting the Lord, and elaborated on his early struggles in life.

Venkatesh Baliga urged the community members to strive to promote mother tongue Konkani.

GSB Sabha president K R Mallya welcomed the gathering.  Joint secretary R V Shenoy introduced the guests.  Honorary secretary Uday Padiyar delivered the introductory address.

GSB Sabha has awarded a scholarship of Rs 6 lac to 56 poor students of the community in the silver jubilee year.

Pooja Gaitonde rendered a devotional musical programme, followed by devotional singing by Kiran Kamat.  Various entertainment programmes were also held on the  occasion.
