Udupi, Dec 29: The annual feast of Holy Family parish, Brahmavar near here was celebrated on Tuesday December 27 and Wednesday December 28.
Fr Alban D’souza, parish priest of St Peter’s parish, Barkur was the main celebrant of festal Eucharistic celebrations held on Tuesday December 27 night.
Fr Alban in his homily said that only God’s word can give us strength and it only can save us from all evil’s things. If we want to change our life then only God’s word is important. If there are broken families today, there is no value for God’s words in those families, he opined.
Fr Stany B Lobo, parish priest and Kallianpur deanery vicar, many priests from the deanery and neighboring parishes also joined in the Eucharistic celebrations along with Fr Alban. The holy mass concluded with adoration to Holy Sacrament on the occasion. A large number of parishioners attended the holy mass.
An attractive display of fireworks was also held after the holy mass at the parish grounds, which was sponsored by Wilfred and Shalet Lewis Matpady, New York, USA.
Brahmavar parish priest Fr Antony Vaz presented the blessed candles to all the families, who annually contributed towards parish burse. Fr Stany B Lobo, parish priest of Our lady of Miracles, and vicar of Kallianpur deanery presided over the grand festal Eucharistic celebrations along with Brahmavar parish priest Fr Antony Vaz, Fr Gerald, Fr Dominic, Fr Paul Melwin and many priests from the deanery and neighboring parishes were present during the holy mass.
Fr Stany said that our life has become like materials. It is sort of mechanical life and there’s value for such a life. Families are God’s gift. God had planned about it way back. St. Paul Said we have to forgive each other, live each other, adjust with the difference between the members, and then only family life will be successful with the help of prayers at the home together, he added.
Fr Antony vaz thanked all the donors who contributed for the annual feast. The holy mass on confraternity Sunday December 18 was offered by Fr J B Sequeira.
