Moodbidri: Japanese Sojo University delegation visits Saavira Kambada Basadi

Moodbidri, Dec 17 (RBI): A delegation from Sojo University, Japan, comprising Dr Ryuichi Tomoshige, head of the university's research centre, Dr Akishi Mori, head of the mechanical engineering department, and Mie Okubo, international coordinator, visited the historic Saavira Kambada (Thousand Pillars) Basadi in Moodbidri on Tuesday, December 17.

The delegation also met Sri Digambar Jain Math president, Jainkashi Moodbidri Mahakshetra's Jain Mahasamsthan pontiff, Bharat Bhushan Jagadguru Swasti Sri Dr Bhattarak Charukeerthi Panditacharyavarya Maha Swamiji.

During the meeting, they discussed various aspects of Indian religions and gained insights into Jainism and its Anuvratas (small vows). The delegation members, who were on a visit to Alva’s Engineering College, were honoured and blessed by the Swamiji.
