Bhatkal, Dec 22: Moon Star won the district level cricket tournament for the first time in the finals of Assadullah Tournament beating Crown Honnawar by 18 runs recently.
Moon Star won the toss and decided to bat first and scored 170/8 in 20 overs. Nasrullah scored a handsome 27 and Zameer scored 43 in 37 balls for Crown Honnawar Kishor bowled 3 overs and picked 3 wickets giving away only 17 runs and Ziyad bowled 22 run and picked 3 wickets.
Chasing the target set by Moon Star, Crown Honnawar lost 4 wickets for 30 run later on later on middle order played well but the Khaleel’s 2 wickets turned the match in favour of Moon Star.
Siraj bowled 2 overs giving away 30 runs and picked 3 wicket Ravidas bowled 4 over giving away 18 run and picked 1 wicket for Crown Honnawar. They scored a total 152/8.
Chief guest at the prize distribution ceremony Nevidith Alwa son of Marget Alva addressed the gathering and congrats to Assadullah sports for organizing such a big events and wished for conducting day-night match.
He also offered to help for organizing such events and congratulated Bhatkalli people for conducting dist level tourney in all types of sports events.
