Kasargod, Dec 22: The bodies of Manohar Alva (43), son of the late Raghulath Alva and Krishnaveni from Kumble, and resident of Kuttikkar near Bambrana, and his wife, Chandrika, who hailed from Ira village, were found lying on the railway tracks near Ankola in Uttara Kannada district on Wednesday December 21.
Alva used to work for a hotel in Mumbai. He had left Mumbai by train on Tuesday for his native place. It is suspected that both of them had decided to end their lives on the way, and executed this plan by jumping in front of an oncoming train at Ankola.
Manohar had married Chandrika about three years back. Thereafter, the couple had started living in Mumbai. So far, no reasons could be ascertained for this surprising act.
On the basis of address and mobile number found in the shirt pocket of Manohar, the policemen of Ankola got in touch with his relatives in Kumble. The relatives rushed to Ankola immediately. A case stands registered in Ankola police stations, and investigation has begun.
