KSRTC bus service between Mangaluru and Karkala via Moodbidri to begin on Dec 14

Daijiworld Media Network – Mangaluru

Mangaluru, Dec 13: The much-anticipated KSRTC bus service from Mangaluru to Karkala via Moodbidri is set to commence on December 14.

As part of a trial, two buses began operating on December 12, followed by four buses from December 13.

The demand for this service dates back to 2013. However, private bus operators raised objections, citing concerns over the weak Gurupura bridge. The application for the KSRTC service remained pending until the completion of the new Gurupura bridge. The application was then reconsidered, and trial runs were conducted. Starting December 14, the service will include 56 single trips daily.

“We have obtained a temporary permit for four months. During the trial run, we will monitor the time required to travel from Mangaluru to Moodbidri and Karkala, identify necessary stops along the route, and assess passenger response,” said divisional controller Rajesh.

Pros: Enhanced safety measures. Discounts or benefits for women. Increased respect and priority for senior citizens. Cons: Lack of cleanliness or hygiene in certain aspects. Fewer opportunities for local youth employment. Gradual decline of the Tulu language and cultural identity.

For the years Karkala citizens are experiencing hardship due to the non availability of government buses. Services of private buses are very poor and they were not treating the people and particularly senior citizen with respect. Senior citizen seats in buses are also occupied by non senior citizens. Bus fare is high and seniors citizens where not offered any concession. Main reason for non introduction of government buses is private bus lobby which is supported by Bharatiya Janata party. It is very difficult to task to break private monopoly. However be congratulation current Congress government for introduction of government buses.. we also advise government to introduce more buses and also cover Padubidri route

Good news for commuters in the route... KSRTC buses do a no nonsense trip with limited stops... This will also prompt private operators to improve services of their own...
