Karkala, Dec 12: A home nurse allegedly defrauded Rs 9.8 lac from an elderly man, Shashidhar (75), a resident of Kasaba village, by observing his Google Pay PIN during a transaction. A case has been registered at Karkala police station in this connection.
The accused, identified as Karthik Shetty, was assigned as a home nurse by the Elite Care organization to take care of Shashidhar. Ratnakar, a representative of the Elite Care organization, has been named as the second accused in the case.
According to the complaint, Karthik Shetty observed Shashidhar's Google Pay PIN while assisting him during a transaction. Using this information, Shetty allegedly transferred Rs 9.8 lac from Shashidhar’s account to his own.
Karkala city police are conducting further investigations into the matter.
