Ramanagara, Dec 20: JDS state president, H D Kumaraswamy, said that the possibility of present Chief Minister, D V Sadananda Gowda, being demoted from being a Lok Sabha member into a legislative council member, cannot be ruled out, in view of the present attitude of former Chief Minister, Yeddyurappa, to get himself saddled in Gowda’s position.
He was speaking after performing puja at Chamudneshwari temple here on Sunday evening, and offering prayers at the local church and mosque. He said Yeddyurappa is busy visiting New Delhi and other places, making efforts to come back to power. Yeddyurappa’s moves have remained secret, he commented. “Yeddyurappa has said he does not want the post of the state president of BJP. We will wait till he makes his stand clear. We are not in favour of forcing the state to face a bypoll. If the BJP government falls on its own because of internal quarrels, we have no control over that,” he clarified, in response to a query. He also blamed the BJP for making the people of the state to face one bypoll after the other.
At the same time, he distanced himself from the reported wish of Sriramulu for seeing Yeddyurappa back in CM’s chair. About the stand of JDS on council bypoll to be held on December 22, he said it will be revealed on December 21, after taking a decision at a meeting of party leaders.
