Mangaluru, Dec 8: A young woman filed a complaint with Kadri police accusing a youth of giving her intoxicating juice and sexually harassing her after offering her help.
As per the details in the complaint, the victim woman's car broke down at Kadri on July 21 and Mohammed Shafeen, who was on the bike coming in the same direction got it repaired. Later, he dropped her in the same car to her apartment at Kodialbail. Mohammed did not forget to note down the mobile number of the girl while leaving.
On August 8, the refrigerator of the victim had some issues. She called out Shafeen for help. Shafeen brought a refrigerator technician to her apartment and got it repaired. Later, Shafeen brought her some fruits and juices. Soonafter the victim drank the juice that Shafeen had brought she became unconscious.
When she got up and enquired on suspicion, the accused Shafeen said that he had physical contact with her while she was lying unconscious. In addition, he also asked her to cooperate with him in the future and threatened her that he would circulate the private video on social media. He also took away the victim's car.
The victim then went in search of the accused Mohammed Shafeen to his apartment at Deralakatte to take back her car. She found her car parked in the parking lot of the apartment building. The victim woman then got the number of the apartment from the security person and went knocking on the doors of the accused. She also requested Shafeen's mother to return her car.
Meanwhile, Mohammed Shiyab, elder brother of the accused Mohammed Shafeen, who was also present in the apartment reportedly attempted to sexually harass the victim girl and also threatened her with life. The girl managed to escape from the spot.
On August 27, Mohammed Shafeen entered the victim's apartment at around 9 pm and stole Rs 62,000 that was kept in the victim's bag.
The victim woman, has, in her complaint sought police to take strict action against the accused. The girl has also filed another complaint against Shiyaab's (elder brother of the accused) wife and sought police action be taken against her as the latter had called and threatened the victim.
Meanwhile, the accused fled overseas.
Kadri police are continuing their investigation.
