Udupi, Dec 8: A tragic accident occurred near the Parkala SBI when a water tanker, parked due to a burst front tyre, became the site of a fatal collision.

The bike rider reportedly crashed into a tanker that was stationary, leading to his untimely death.

The victim has been identified as Srujan Sagar, the 22-year-old son of Vinadevu Poojari from Shettibettu. Srujan had recently secured employment at KMC Manipal.

According to sources, the water tanker had been stationed at the spot for a considerable amount of time due to a technical issue. It had experienced another snag the day before, when it broke down in the middle of the road in Parkala.

The tanker driver should be held responsible and penalized for negligence. Why he did not put cautionary indicators behind the broken down tanker to warn the road users of the danger. Secondary the two wheeler riders on our roads are most restless and irresponsible risking their own and other road users lives. The end result is pain, sorrow for family members.

The tanker or any other vehicle should leave in the middle of the road or else immediately respond for the repairing . Most of the time the owner dont have money to repair and leave the vehicle many days on road . This scenario to be changed and heavy fine to be imposed on the owner

Vehicle drivers, whether it is truck or any vehicles, they give least importance to safety of one's life and also the concern for others. Might be they are not educated or they do not follow the safety norms. Our entire system is rotten.. RIP Srujan Sagar.

Very sad and may the victims soul rest in peace. Drivers of heavy vehicles, light motor vehicles should be penalised when their vehicles are parked on the road without hazardous lights on, let it be for any purpose the respective vehicle is parked for. We see a number of vehicles parked during the day or night in the city limits or highway without the hazardous lights on.

The tanker should have put up indicators and warning triangle or at least fix a tree branch.....the owner and driver should be booked for negligence and murder.....we take road safety so lightly
