Mumbai, Dec 18: Metro-based Bhandary Seva Samiti organized its annual sports meet at Railway police grounds, Mulund (East), on Sunday December 18.
Samiti president Balakrishna P Bhandary inaugurated the meet on Sunday morning.
Speaking on the occasion, he said that sports had gained a key role in the scientific and IT era and encouragement in this regard is essential to nurture youth talent.
Samiti vice-presidents Vijayanand Bhandary and Padmanabha Bhandary, honorary chief secretary lawyer R M Bhandary, honorary treasurer Ramesh Bhandary, joint secretaries Narayan Bhandary and Vijay Bhandary, joint treasurers Prabhakar Bhandary, women’s wing president Lalita Bhandary, secretary Vanita Bhandary, and community veteran leader Sanjeev Bhandary Chira Bazaar were present on the occasion.
Dr Ratnakar Shetty, renowned medical practitioner of central suburban Bhandup, was the chief guest at the concluding ceremony held on Sunday evening.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Shetty said that sport has no age limit. “Sports enthusiast can indulge in body fitness and others to excel in sports,” he added.
The entrepreneur and social activist Ganesh Poojary, Samiti former president lawyer Sundar G Bhandary Bandra, finance committee president Attur Shivaram Bhandary, and other dignitaries distributed prizes to the winners.
Purushottam Bhandary welcomed the gathering. Keshav Bhandary and Rahul P Bhandary honoured the guests while lawyer R M Bhandary proposed the vote of thanks.
