Panaji: Sonia Gandhi Felicitates Operation Vijay Personnel

Panaji, Dec 18: National Advisory Committee Chairperson and Congress president Sonia Gandhi saluted the selfless services of the army personnel in Operation Vijay at the Thanks-giving function held here at Kala Academy, Campal on Saturday December 17.

Chief Minister Digambar Kamat formally received Sonia Gandhi at naval enclave Dabolim, Vasco.

Union minister for defense A K Antony, who was also present at the occasion, felicitated Air CMDE P K Pinto, retired AVSM officer on behalf of Indian Air Force for his valuable service during Operation Vijay.

Army chief Gen V K Singh was also felicitated during thanks-giving function by Sonia Gandhi.

Goa assembly speaker Pratap Singh Rane, PWD minister Churchill Alemao, Lok Sabha MP Francisco Sardinha and Rajya Sabha MP Shantaram Naik were present at the occasion.

Former chief minister Luizinho Faleiro, president of GPCC Subhash Shirodkar and deputy speaker Mauvin Godinho among others were also present.
