Kadaba, Dec 2: The body of Sandeep (29), a resident of Mungli Majalu in Bilinele village, who had been missing since November 27, was found in a decomposed state in a forest near Naradka on the Kukke Subrahmanya Road.

The police have arrested Prateek, a resident of Nettan, who has reportedly confessed to the murder. It is alleged that Prateek killed Sandeep, poured petrol over the body, and set it ablaze before abandoning it in the forest.

Sandeep worked in a shamiyana business along with Vinay in Murdal. On November 27, Vinay had reportedly seen Sandeep in the company of Prateek.

Initially, the Kadaba police allegedly refused to accept a missing person's complaint from Sandeep’s family. It is claimed that they even threatened his mother when she tried to file the complaint. However, three days later, the police registered the case and took Prateek into custody for questioning.

During the investigation, Prateek led the police to the location where the body was discovered. The case has sparked outrage among locals, who have accused the police of negligence. There are also allegations of political interference to hush up the matter.

Sandeep’s family has expressed suspicions that the death might be linked to ganja-related activities. Locals staged a protest in front of the Kadaba police station, demanding justice and accountability.
