Udupi, Nov 13: Udupi MLA and Mahalakshmi Co-operative Bank President, Yashpal Suvarna, has urged former MLA Raghupati Bhat to promptly hand over the High Court’s stay order copy, related to the FIR against Mahalakshmi Bank’s stakeholders, to the District Superintendent of Police. Suvarna insisted that this copy, if in Bhat’s possession, should be shared with both the district police chief and the media to ensure transparency.
Despite the bank’s administration clarifying their stand on the issue during a press conference on November 9, welcoming any form of investigation, Raghupati Bhat allegedly continues to spread misinformation through the media. Yashpal Suvarna emphasized that Bhat’s actions appear to undermine the judicial process and mislead the public, creating confusion regarding the High Court's stay order on the case.
Expressing strong resentment, Suvarna stated that Bhat’s actions, driven by self-interest, are a direct attack on the co-operative sector, potentially destabilizing the integrity of the entire system. He accused Bhat of attempting to manipulate the system, calling his behavior a disservice to the co-operative sector.
