Mangaluru, Nov 12: On Nov 10, Guardian Angel Church, Angelore, came alive with joyful celebrations for Children's Day. The festivities began with a Eucharistic celebration at 9:30 am, celebrated by Fr Stany Fernandes, the socius priest, with Fr Andrew Leo and Fr Clany D'Souza concelebrating. The Mass was filled with blessings for the children and their families, setting a reverent and celebratory tone for the day.

The evening program commenced at 5:45 pm with a heartfelt prayer song performed by the parish children's choir. The dignitaries were then escorted to the stage, including chief guest Sr Stephany Coelho, parish priest and president of the event Fr Frederick Monteiro, Fr Stany, Dn Jeevan Lobo, parish pastoral council vice president Paul Rodrigues, secretary Lolina D'Souza, and 21 commissions coordinator Renita Menezes.

Paul Rodrigues welcomed the gathering, followed by a unique inauguration where children from the 1st and 2nd standards, along with the dignitaries, released balloons symbolizing unity and joy. In her address, Sr Stephany highlighted the significance of Children's Day and celebrated the joy of children gathering at the church to share their talents.

The event featured a prize distribution ceremony, acknowledging winners of various competitions organized by the Angelore Youth Movement. In his presidential address, Fr Frederick praised the children for their enthusiasm and dedication, emphasizing the training and growth they receive through the church's programs. He also expressed gratitude to the parents for their unwavering support.

All trainers and teachers involved were recognized for their contributions. Lolina D'Souza delivered a heartfelt vote of thanks, appreciating everyone’s efforts in making the day a success.

The celebrations concluded with a vibrant cultural program, showcasing the talents of children from kindergarten through PUC in dance, music, and drama. The joyous occasion ended with a short prayer and blessing by Fr Frederick, leaving everyone with hearts full of joy and gratitude.
