Udupi, Dec 7: Speaking about the alleged act of sexual harassment, catching the scene on mobile phone, and forwarding it to other mobiles, levelled against Chandrashekhar Adiga, physical education teacher of Polipu government PU College near here, office bearers of Udupi District Primary and High School Physical Teachers Association have dismissed them as untrue.
“The allegation of sexual harassment and capturing the scene on mobile phone are false. No such scenes are contained in the video clip purported to have been filmed by the teacher in question. Clearly the images were taken in some outdoors. The mobile phone Adiga owns does not have facility to video graph scenes. The date on which harassment allegedly happened, was Sunday, on which day no classes are conducted. In the past too, some locals had made efforts for transfer of this teacher in vain. Now they want to get their demand fulfilled by making false allegation. The policemen should conduct in-depth investigation and bring out who is behind this conspiracy. If the scene is sent to mobiles, the details of who sent them should be probed. We have requested the superintendent of police to order a detailed investigation,” they said. They also condemned harassment meted out to the teacher without properly looking into all these aspects.
District president of the association, K Karunakar Shetty, office bearers, Kiradi Vijay Kumar Shetty, Basavaraj, Prabhakar, Navin Shetty, and R Jayaram, were present at the press conference.
